A useful timber RFQ should state thickness, width and length as clearly as possible, together with the unit of measurement. If more than one dimension is acceptable, list the preferred size and any alternatives separately.
Dimensions should be accompanied by species, grade, moisture condition, treatment, quantity and application. This reduces ambiguity and makes it easier to compare sourcing options on a like-for-like basis.
For recurring demand, include an estimated monthly requirement and explain whether the same dimensions will be used regularly or may change between orders.
